UniCarriers Americas Corporation Announces Forklift Giveaway Winner

Online contest offered businesses the chance to win a brand-new UniCarriers forklift.

Marengo, IL. - January 2017 - UniCarriers Americas Corporation (UCA) has announced the winner of its Remember Our Name Forklift Giveaway. Chris Jahelka, President of Vic's Time Sheet Metal Fabrication from Palmerton, Pennsylvania, was named the winner of a brand-new Platinum II® cushion tire forklift. This 5,000lb capacity LP truck, with a 187 triple mast, hang-on side shift, and 48" forks was selected to fit the needs of Chris's business. The giveaway allowed a winner to select a new UniCarriers forklift with up to 5,000 lbs. capacity.

The Platinum II® was chosen by Chris with the help of UniCarriers Americas authorized dealer Action Lift, Inc. of Pittston, Pennsylvania, which sent a team to Chris's business to help select the perfect truck with the right options for his business applications.

"This promotion was another way for us to reach out into the marketplace. We wanted to offer business owners and materials handling professionals the opportunity to try one of the most reliable forklifts in the market," said Brian Markison, Senior Director of Sales & Marketing at UCA.

"In the case of Mr. Jahelka, it's nice to know that we gave a boost to a small business owner who counts on forklifts to help run his business," he added.

Powered by high performance industrial engines, the rugged Platinum II® Internal Combustion forklift delivers greater torque to satisfy a variety of high cycle manufacturing, warehouse or other indoor applications. Each low emission Platinum II® comes standard with a comprehensive engine protection system to warn operators in case of excessive heat or a severe drop in oil pressure, providing extended engine and drive train life. Each truck is backed by UniCarriers Americas best-in-class 2 year, unlimited hour warranty.

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself.
