RAYMOND HANDLING RAISES $17,328 TO BENEFIT BREAST CANCER CHARITIES

AUBURN, Wash., Nov. 3, 2017 - Raymond Handling Concepts Corporation (RHCC), a leading materials handling equipment supplier in Northern California and the Northwest, today announced the winning bid on its fourth annual Pink Pallet Jack Project online auction was $6,150 by John Souza of J & K Trucking. Showing its continued support of Raymond Handling's fundraising efforts, this year marks the fourth year Souza's company has placed the winning bid. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all proceeds raised from this year's auction were shared between the Tina Fund in Greene, New York and Northwest Hope and Healing.

"Overall, Raymond Handling Concepts Corporation raised $17,328 to benefit two commendable breast cancer charities this year," said Steve Raymond, President. "We are thrilled to see our Pink Pallet Jack Project's continued success in uniting our network and communities together in the support of finding a cure. Since 2014, we have raised more than $137,000 for charity, a large portion of this amount coming from the Pink Pallet Jack Project."

With the second highest bid during the auction, RHCC sold an additional Pink Pallet Jack to Jere VanPuffelen with Prism Logistics. The fight to find a cure is personal for Raymond Handling Concepts as many of its employees have seen the lives of their loved ones shaken by cancer.

Open House
In addition to the auction, RHCC hosted its 30th Anniversary event at its Auburn, Washington facility on October 25, 2017. The open house style event featured Hors d'oeuvres, a live performance by Washington native Gina Belliveau and sponsored raffles prizes including Polaris who donated a gear bag and EnerSys who raffled off a flat screen TV. The event rounded up 27 guests from local communities and several of Raymond Handling's vendor partners including EnerSys, All Battery, Polaris GEM, Cascade, Quantum, WWMH, WoW Baking and All Battery.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.
