- Associated-Allied, a company that designs and installs high-performance material handling and stor- age solutions, has expand- ed its presence in Indiana by building a new office, warehouse and shop facility in Indianapolis. When dedicating the 30,000-square-foot building, located in the Ameriplex Business Park, President & CEO Michael Romano cited the hard work and commitment of the company's Indiana employees as a factor in management's decision to expand in the state.
- The Macon Economic Development Commission in Macon, Ga., reports that Sara Lee will be building a new 213,000-square-foot refrigerated DC. The new building will be located in Macon's I-75 Business Park.
- TNT Logistics North America has opened a regional DC in Orlando to handle components for Otis Elevator Co. The new 57,700-square-foot facility will serve Otis's customers in Florida and the surrounding states, providing parts and installation kits for Otis equipment. Otis is the world's largest manufacturer of elevators, escalators and moving walkways.
- DHL in Korea has completed the relocation of its airport operations to a new and larger cargo hub facility at Incheon International Logistics Center in Seoul. The facility will include airfreight import and export services, customs clearance, bonded warehousing, consolidation and distribution services. And in Germany, DHL has opened an advanced logistics center in Greven, near Munster. The facility will house logis- tics operations for the shopping channel HSE24 (Home Shopping Europe). The facility has a capacity to ship up to 40,000 packages each day.
