Hyster Tracker Wins Product of the Year Award for Turning Data into Actionable Insight

GREENVILLE, N.C. (Dec. 17, 2019) - Every operation has data. The challenge is knowing what to do with it. Material Handling Product News (MHPN) awarded Hyster Company (www.hyster.com) with a product of the year award for its Hyster® Tracker technology that helps businesses turn data into insights. MHPN readers cast 3,750 votes for products across 13 categories, with the Hyster Tracker telemetry solution beating out three other finalists in the automatic data capture category.

"When operations have more data than they know what to do with, a key challenge is breaking through the clutter to identify what data points are most valuable," says Steven LaFevers, Vice President, Emerging Technology, Hyster Company. "Recognition from MHPN readers validates that the powerful technology platform and expert support of Hyster Tracker helps operations put that data to practical use. It is a comprehensive data collection interface for powered equipment in a customer's fleet."

Hyster Tracker offers intuitive, user-friendly dashboards via an online portal to help users make sense of data from materials handling equipment and make data-driven decisions to optimize operations. Managers can see utilization information for individual lift trucks and other mobile equipment to inform decisions on fleet size and structure. Key card access helps prevent operators from operating equipment for which they have not been properly trained. Hyster Tracker can also track GPS locations, impact information and more, and matches that information with specific operators, allowing managers to use these inputs to evaluate employee performance.

Earlier this year, the company debuted the Hyster Tracker mobile app, the first of its kind in the material handling industry. It works as a companion to the desktop portal, bringing data-driven insights and management functionality to the shop floor. The app is compatible with both Android and iOS devices, and is available at no additional charge to Hyster Tracker users.
