Dachser USA renews ISO 9001:2015 certification

Reinforces ongoing commitment to quality management excellence
Atlanta, GA, December 19, 2019 - Dachser USA, a subsidiary of the international logistics provider Dachser, has successfully renewed its ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification from Dekra Certification, Inc. for its Contract Logistics locations in Atlanta and Chicago and its regional office in Atlanta.

Dedicated to quality management excellence, Dachser USA's renewal of this certification for its contract logistics services, road transport and value added services further demonstrates the company's enduring commitment to deliver the highest level of quality and customer service to its customers and markets.

In 2016, Dachser USA established its local Dachser Management System (DMS) for contract logistics and distribution. Focused on continual process quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction, it promotes and develops quality excellence while improving Dachser USA's overall performance and minimizes risk at every step of the supply chain. This rigorous and innovative quality control standard enables that best practices are utilized within Dachser USA to meet the ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

"We work in a dynamic, challenging industry, so our quality management systems need to be able to respond to market shifts and changes in business demands," says Vincent Touya, Managing Director of Dachser USA. "We are committed to be the preferred provider of supply chain logistics services and solutions, and the ongoing certification is a recognition of our invested effort to establish and maintain the highest quality standards per the requirements set forth by ISO 9001:2015."

Observed by more than one million companies in more than 170 countries worldwide, the ISO 9001:2015 certification provides a standard model for a quality management system that helps businesses and organizations achieve maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction. To receive the ISO 9001:2015 certification, companies must demonstrate consistent product quality that meets customer expectations. They must also prioritize and strive to improve the customer experience through process improvements, conformity to system standards, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Dachser USA's scope of certification falls into the intelligent logistics provision category which includes contract logistics, road transportation, and other value-added services. This certification will also allow Dachser USA to further expand its market focus on key industries such as automotive enabling further growth within the U.S. Maintaining this important quality management system certification demonstrates Dachser USA's continued commitment to safety, quality, and reliability.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.
