Alpega Group, a global provider of cloud-based logistics management software, announced in November that its U.S. division had grown in Q3 by 345%, compared to its Q3 report from the previous year.

The company's solutions cover functions such as dock appointment scheduling, freight procurement, reusable packaging management and more. In a press release made available on Business Wire, Mark McArthur, Alpega's managing director for North America, indicated the company had expanded its product portfolio and go-to-market strategy to support North American businesses in a stronger capacity.

"Alpega's unique ability to provide SaaS solutions for companies with transportation processes ranging from low- to high-end complexity, offers the flexibility to start with a simple, tactical Transportation Management System (TMS) and expand to a highly strategic system as required," McArthur stated.

Alpega, meanwhile, indicated the move came at a time technology is making it easier to connect and route road, rail, sea and air transportation with the efficiency that previously wasn't possible. Additionally, Alpega said that the Transportation Management System (TMS) and freight exchange markets in which it operates are going through a step-change in digital transformation.

"As the market matures, we are seeing customers reach the limits of what they can achieve with their initial first-generation TMS tools," commented Alpega Group CEO Todd DeLaughter via the Business Wire press release. "Alpega not only scales from simple to complex transportation networks but also leverages the data from our freight exchange marketplace to offer unique insights to both shippers and carriers about optimal routes and processes."

With its cloud-based transportation management solutions, Alpega aims to help companies save on their freight spend, all while emphasizing its ability to make sustainability actionable. The company highlights that their smart routing functionality empowers businesses to reduce their carbon footprints on return and outbound routes by enabling full truckloads.
