Omnichain™ Expands Executive Team by Adding Gary González as VP of Enterprise Sales & Strategy

Omnichain™ Expands Executive Team by Adding Gary González as VP of Enterprise Sales & Strategy

LOS ANGELES—Nov. 13, 2019—Omnichain™, an enterprise focused on providing cognitive supply chain management software on distributed ledger technology (blockchain), announces the addition of experienced sales and supply chain professional, Gary González, as Vice President of Enterprise Sales & Strategy. González will be responsible for managing Omnichain's enterprise sales team, guiding the team's strategy and increasing its size and coverage for target accounts, including Fortune 500 companies and other global organizations.

Pratik Soni, founder and CEO, Omnichain, said, "Gary has a breadth of expertise in how to grow sales teams and lead them to excellence. He has worked with some of the biggest service providers in the supply chain industry, enabling them to foster strong and lasting relationships with household names across multiple industry verticals, including retail, apparel, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals and consumer packaged goods. I am excited to see how he will further our business development and accelerate our path to hypergrowth."

With a career that traverses multiple continents and countries, González began by working with Danish container shipping company Maersk Line, helping to secure key contracts with apparel brands and pharmaceutical companies shipping products internationally. This allowed González to build his sales experience and network of contacts, eventually leading to a management role at a burgeoning supply chain technology startup. He would later help grow the startup from $10,000 to $30 million in revenue. Since then, González has continued to work in the supply chain technology space, covering solutions from Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain Management (SCM), to Big Data and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

On joining Omnichain, Gary González, said, "Pratik and the Omnichain team have built a robust solution that is exactly what the supply chain needs today. Companies are dealing with increasingly fragmented operations—both domestically and abroad. These unfortunate silos make it difficult to get insight into where a product is, and what the market looks like at any given time, creating challenges in forecasting, planning and provenance. Omnichain offers a single platform to obtain all that information—in real time—for better visibility and decision-making. While others are experimenting with blockchain, Omnichain has a product that is in market—and I look forward to taking the Omnichain brand to new heights."

González is based in Westfield, New Jersey. His appointment is effective immediately.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.

Now the company is ready for the next step: greening up the glue.
