C.H. Robinson launches Freightquote

Self-service, web-based tool streamlines the shipping process for small-business customers, company says.

Transportation and third-party logistics (3PL) firm C.H. Robinson is making it easier for small businesses to book shipments across multiple modes of transportation with this week's launch of  Freightquote, a self-service, web-based tool that simplifies the shipping process.

Customers can enter just a few details about their shipment and instantly compare competitive rates from carriers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the firm said. The tool is available from any device and allows customers to book less-than-truckload (LTL) or truckload freight, track shipments, get notifications, and pay with a credit card. The tool is designed for small, entrepreneurial companies that may have limited knowledge in the shipping and logistics process.


"Our research shows that small business shippers want ease of use and peace of mind when booking their shipping, which is exactly what Freightquote by C.H. Robinson's technology is designed to do," C.H. Robinson President and CEO Bob Biesterfeld said in a statement. "Customers are guided through a simple, transparent process that allows them to make the best shipping decision for their small business."

Freightquote is built on C.H. Robinsons's Navisphere global technology platform, the company said.

California moves a step closer to requiring EV sales only by 2035

Federal regulators today gave California a green light to tackle the remaining steps to finalize its plan to gradually shift new car sales in the state by 2035 to only zero-emissions models — meaning battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and plug-in hybrid cars — known as the Advanced Clean Cars II Rule.
