Alliance Shippers Inc. Awarded Gold in National Survey

Buyers of logistics and transportation services recognize company's commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction.

Alliance Shippers Inc. Awarded Gold in National Survey

Englewood Cliffs, NJ -- Alliance Shippers Inc., a leading provider of global logistics services, announced that it has received a prestigious industry award for quality service and customer satisfaction.

Alliance Shippers Inc. is the winner of the Gold Medal for Intermodal Marketing Companies in Logistics Management Magazine's Quest for Quality survey of transportation and logistics services providers. The award is the culmination of a six-month research project conducted by Peerless Research Group.

"We are honored to receive the 2019 Quest for Quality award. It recognizes our top-to-bottom approach to customer service," said Jonathan Lefcourt, President and CEO of Alliance Shippers Inc. "It proves that our commitment to premium transportation and logistics solutions are appreciated by our customers."

For more than three decades, Logistics Management's Quest for Quality has been regarded in the transportation and logistics industry as the most important measure of customer satisfaction and performance excellence. With this year's award, Alliance Shippers Inc. has achieved this recognition 19 times.

"Quest for Quality Awards are uniquely purposeful in our market because the winners are determined by our readers -- the buyers of logistics and transportation services who put these carriers and service providers to work on a daily basis all over the world," said Michael Levans, Group Editorial Director of Peerless Media, LLC, the publisher of Logistics Management.

About the Quest for Quality Award
To determine the best of the best, Logistics Management readers -- logistics, transportation and supply chain decision makers -- rate carriers, third-party logistics (3PL) service providers and U.S. port operators strictly on the basis of service quality. One of the most notable elements about the Quest for Quality Awards is that it calls these shippers to vote in the genre of services they actually use; in turn, they vote for the providers that they think have best delivered on quality service in specific niches.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.

Now the company is ready for the next step: greening up the glue.
