Transfix Names COO Lily Shen as President

Following two successful years, the veteran executive expands her leadership role as Transfix charts an aggressive growth trajectory

NEW YORK (August 14, 2019) -- Transfix, a leading digital freight marketplace, today announced the appointment of Lily Shen as the company's President. After leading the operations and growth of the business the past two years as Chief Operating Officer, Shen has expanded her role to oversee all departments including corporate development, product, engineering, finance, legal and human resources, with the executive team directly reporting to her.

Prior to joining Transfix, Shen spent almost 20 years in leadership roles at Silicon Valley's leading technology companies, such as eBay, IDEO, and Wealthfront. In early 2018, when presented with the opportunity to apply best-in-class technology to the trucking and logistics industry, Shen moved back to her native New York to help Transfix establish itself as a leader and innovator in the $800 billion domestic trucking market.

"In the past two years of having Lily on board, we've seen massive growth both on the business and product development side," said Drew McElroy, CEO and Co-Founder of Transfix. "Lily is a tremendous strategist and operator with a natural knack for building strong teams. She's been a catalyst in establishing Transfix as the go-to platform connecting shipper and carrier communities, while ensuring our business goals align with our overall mission to improve and evolve the industry as a whole. We're thrilled to have Lily charting our course as we push to make our vision a reality."

Since 2013, Transfix has established itself as a leader within the digital freight marketplace, using its advanced AI and machine learning technology to optimize the process of matching freight carriers with shippers. During Shen's first year at Transfix, the company saw its business triple in size at a profit, all the while accelerating its product development. Since then, Transfix has continued to address the most prominent issues to exist in the digital freight landscape, while rapidly growing its robust network of major shippers, such as Anheuser-Busch, Unilever and Glossier, and its growing network of carriers.
