Pelican BioThermal Wins Award for Local Economic Growth and Innovation

MINNEAPOLIS April 18, 2019 Pelican BioThermal, the global name in temperature-controlled packaging, announces it has been named a 2019 Progress Minnesota honoree by Finance & Commerce magazine. The company received the award on April 17, 2019 in the manufacturing category for its outstanding efforts to grow Minnesota's economy.

"We're very honored to join Minnesota's forward thinkers and innovators as one of this year's Progress Minnesota award recipients in manufacturing," said David Williams, president of Pelican BioThermal. "It's a testament to our ongoing efforts to fulfill the complex needs of the global life sciences industry as well as further local economic prosperity."

Pelican BioThermal, headquartered in Plymouth, Minnesota, has been on an impressive upward trajectory in recent years. The company continues an aggressive worldwide expansion for its Cr?do™ On Demand rental program with new network locations in Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Indiana, Dublin, Ireland, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Sao Paulo, Brazil. This expansion in addition to a 90% increase in the container fleet has helped support a 90% increase in revenue from its On Demand rental business. Pelican BioThermal also recently added proven industry leaders and experts to its team to help their customers, eight of the top 10 pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide, protect their life-saving products during shipment.

"Minnesota has been a hub of biopharma development for decades, and we have worked hard to match the pace of innovation," said Williams. "We are grateful to have the opportunity to mine exceptional local talent that drives this type of innovation to protect the delivery of the latest generation of medical treatments and blood products."

Pelican BioThermal joins 23 other individuals, companies, organizations and institutions being recognized for driving economic growth and innovation in Minnesota. This is the eighth year of the Progress Minnesota awards, where a panel of independent Finance & Commerce judges select honorees in seven categories: individual, financial services, manufacturing, technology, nonprofit/government organization, food and beverage and other.
