VDC Research Names Konexial as Leading Example of Trucking Technological Growth

VDC Research Names Konexial as Leading Example of Trucking Technological Growth

VDC Research analyst Pat Nolan published "The Big Rig Biz Meets Big Data, Tech" which highlights Konexial as a leading example of growth within the FMCSA-mandated "mashup between trucking and tech." From Nolan's report:

"One of the many solutions that has risen to the occasion is the My20 ELD by Konexial. My20 ELD consists of a single, small (slightly larger than a quarter) piece of hardware installed into a truck's diagnostic port that connects to a smartphone app on a driver's smartphone. At roughly $130 for the device and a $15/month subscription fee per user for the app, it is a cost-effective tool for ELD compliance, log auditing, and GPS tracking with a breadth of other integrated functionalities. A standout feature is Konexial's GoLoad Dynamic Load Matching (DLM), which allows independent drivers to receive load opportunities pushed right to their phones in order to gain extra revenue when truck capacity and route convenience allow it."

Konexial's My20 ELD (Electronic Logging Device) device automatically logs a driver's location, hours-of-service and available capacity to fulfill FMCSA compliance rules. Konexial's GoLoad dynamic load matching platform uses the data provided from the My20 ELD to dynamically match up drivers who have extra hours and capacity with available loads from shippers based on location, direction, hours of service, and economic criteria—providing drivers with opportunities to dramatically increase earning potential.
In the VDC Research 2018 Enterprise Buyer Behavior report, Nolan cites the trucking technology offered by Konexial and others as "well-positioned for growth." More from Nolan, Research Associate, Enterprise Mobility & Connected Devices for VDC Research:

"In our 2018 Enterprise Buyer Behavior report, when looking exclusively at our respondents from trucking transportation operations, we see that the leading market priorities driving mobile technology investments are increasing visibility, improving mobile workforce productivity, and reducing delivery costs. The solutions discussed so far aim to achieve precisely those goals."

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.

Now the company is ready for the next step: greening up the glue.
