Norwegian Retailer Spar Kjøp Selects Blue Ridge Global Technology to Support its Omnichannel Process

Blue Ridge Global today announced that Spar Kjøp, a leading general merchandise, omnichannel retailer in Norway has selected its Supply Chain Planning solutions to optimize inventory at all 24 department stores throughout the country.

Spar Kjøp considered multiple supply chain planning vendors in order to enhance customer experience, eliminate lost sales, and increase inventory turnover. Spar Kjøp selected Blue Ridge Supply Chain Planning technology with confidence that the partnership would address these challenges, improve organizational efficiency, and ultimately increase operating income for the business.

"As I see it, the Blue Ridge Supply Chain Planning capabilities will be a vital part of our overall strategy of vitalizing and modernizing Spar Kjøp for a future digitalized commerce platform," said Jeaneth Eide Knudsen, CEO. "We were further convinced of the value of a partnership with Blue Ridge as a result of their dedication and strong capacity to innovate and remain a recognized leader in supply chain planning for retail and distribution."

"Blue Ridge's supply chain planning expertise will help to more precisely align inventory with customer demand at stores, while also optimizing the whole of our inventory investment, including at our distribution center," said Idun Storm, Spar Kjøp Chief Operating Officer. "Effectively, we should be able to satisfy omnichannel demand with less inventory across the supply chain."

The Blue Ridge supply chain platform is the most accurate way for retailers to spot and plan for changes in customer demand before they happen. This insight helps reduce costs, improve service levels and assure product availability to customers, without creating a costly inventory surplus.

"Inventory visibility and control are essential for the success of a multi-channel retailer," said Jim Byrnes, Blue Ridge Global Chief Executive Officer. "Spar Kjøp showed dedication to extend its reputation as an industry leader by investing in innovation throughout its operational process."
