Atlantic Environmental Solutions, Inc. Named to 2018 INC. 5000 List

HOBOKEN, N.J., Aug. 17, 2017 - Inc. magazine has ranked Atlantic Environmental Solutions, Inc. (AESI) No. 3768 on its 37th annual Inc. 5000 List, the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. There are more than 7.3 million privately held companies in America. The firm's three year revenue growth of 97 percent, ranked 105 in New Jersey, which is home to more than 220,000 private companies. The list represents a unique look at the most successful companies within the American economy's most dynamic segment - its independent small businesses. Microsoft, Dell, Domino's Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.

"We are pleased that Inc. magazine has recognized our team's hard work, ingenuity and commitment to achieving client goals," said AESI president Michael Novak, a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP). "Our growth in response to market demand has required us to deepen our knowledge base and increase the scope of resources necessary to deliver timely and cost-effective solutions without compromising quality. We are continuing to expand the firm's footprint and are excited about the opportunities we see on the horizon."

The companies on the 2018 Inc. 5000 unveiled online and with the top 500 companies featured in the September issue of Inc., have not only been highly competitive within their markets, but the list as a whole shows staggering growth compared with prior lists. The 2018 Inc. 5000 achieved an astounding three-year average growth of 538.2 percent, and a median rate of 171.8 percent. The aggregate revenue for companies on the list was $206.1 billion in 2017, accounting for 664,095 jobs over the past three years. Only seven New Jersey firms ranked in Environmental Services, Engineering and Real Estate industries, with AESI being the only one in the Environmental Services category. Complete results, including company profiles and an interactive database, can be found at https://www.inc.com/profile/atlantic-environmental-solutions.

"If your company is on the Inc. 5000, it's unparalleled recognition of your years of hard work and sacrifice," says Inc. editor in chief James Ledbetter. "The lines of business may come and go, or come and stay. What doesn't change is the way entrepreneurs create and accelerate the forces that shape our lives."

AESI is a full-service environmental consulting firm active in New Jersey, New York and throughout the U.S., providing a wide range of services to assist clients in complying with complex environmental laws and regulations. With two decades of experience in the regulatory, technical and management aspects of environmental issues, the Hoboken, N.J.-based firm has handled over $60 million in environmental projects at over 5,000 client locations across 47 states.

The annual Inc. 5000 event honoring the companies on the list will be held October 17 to 19, 2018, in San Antonio, Texas.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.
