ID Label Demonstrating Easy-Release Warehouse Labels at Modex 2018

Solutions Support Warehouse Inventory Location Flexibility

ID Label Demonstrating Easy-Release Warehouse Labels at Modex 2018

LAKE VILLA, Ill., Feb. 20 2018 - At Modex 2018, ID Label Inc. will demonstrate two easy-release warehouse barcode labeling solutions designed for today's smart warehouse, where speed, efficiency and inventory location flexibility are top priorities. One of the labels, Clean Release™, is a finalist for the 2018 MHI Innovation Award.

E-commerce sales and omni-channel fulfillment operations have led to a huge increase in SKUs and inventory volumes in warehouses and distribution centers.

"In this environment, warehouse storage racking is more likely to need new identification labels as items are shifted to accommodate changes in product velocity, promotions and seasonality," said Malcolm Aitken, ID Label's vice president of sales. "We're seeing growing demand for barcode labeling solutions that can accommodate our customers' needs for inventory location flexibility."

To support this demand, ID Label will feature two products custom-engineered for companies that desire greater labeling flexibility.

Clean Release™ Repositionable Label

For new warehouse racking systems, ID Label recommends starting with a preprinted, repositionable barcode label. This solution makes it easy to relabel rack locations in the future. They are simple to install and offer inventory location flexibility, without any need for scraping or cleaning to remove them.

"Our Clean Release removable label features an advanced adhesive that adheres tightly to virtually any surface, but is easily removable without any leftover adhesive residue," Aitken said. "It's great for warehouses and DCs that occasionally relabel pallet locations to accommodate inventory changes."

Labels can be custom manufactured in a variety of sizes and materials, including multicolor designs. Clean Release™ is a finalist for the 2018 MHI Innovation Award, which will be announced April 9, 2018, at the Modex show in Atlanta.

Beam Renew™ Easy-Release Label Holder and Cover-Up

In existing facilities, dealing with in-place barcode labels on the beam faces is a challenge.

"These labels may be damaged, partially missing or peeling off," Aitken said. "It's time consuming and unproductive to have your workers spend hours scraping off old labels and treating beams with cleaning solutions just to get them prepared for new warehouse labels."

Applying basic paper barcode labels on top of the existing ones is not a recommended option - and certainly not a long-term solution. Not only is this aesthetically unattractive, if there's any show-through or an uneven surface beneath the new label, it can lead to scan errors and lost productivity.

"Our Beam Renew™ product works as both a cover-up solution and an easy-release label holder," Aitken said. "With its durable construction, it easily applies over old warehouse beams and barcode labels without the time and expense of cleaning, scraping or painting. Plus, it features a metalized, opaque backing to eliminate any show through of old labels."

In addition, with Beam Renew's quick-release laminate top coating, it's easy to relabel your racks the next time you need to accommodate changes in your product inventory.

ID Label will demonstrate a full range of its barcode label and sign solutions. Visit ID Label at Modex booth 4257, April 9-12, 2018, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

KUKA to Showcase Cobots for Medical Applications at AAOS Meeting

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich., Jan. 28, 2025 – Targeting the reduction of work-related injury for healthcare workers and shortening time-to-market for medical device OEMs, KUKA Robotics will bring two advanced medical innovations featuring cobot automation to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) annual meeting in booth #540. The event takes place in San Diego, California, March 10-14, and attendees will see how KUKA’s LBR iisy cobot solution helps reduce the incidence of arm and shoulder injury to ultrasound technicians and sonographers. A second cobot demonstration will feature a KUKA Robot Development Kit using a LBR MED 14 R820 cobot that helps slash development time for unique medical device solutions.

Because of the repetitive nature of their work, sonographers and ultrasound technicians commonly experience musculoskeletal disorders such as tendonitis and rotator cuff injury from their work that requires them to apply pressure with abnormal arm and shoulder positioning. Using robot technology such as KUKA’s LBR iisy cobot, however, can take the strain off these technicians by precisely conducting these repetitive exams autonomously. Equipped with a Haply Inverse3 Hapatic Feedback Teleop Device and an OptoForce FT Sensor, the LBR iisy robotic arm can be controlled and manipulated to apply the proper amount of force to the imaging head for a proper reading.
