Company Will Join One of the World's Largest Retail Supply Chains, Walmart International, in Sharing Best Practices for Gaining a Competitive Edge from Supply Chain Design and Optimization

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (February 20, 2018) — LLamasoft, a global leader in supply chain optimization software and solutions, today announced details of its participation at the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) Retail Supply Chain Conference, taking place February 25-28, 2018 in Phoenix, Ariz. At the event, LLamasoft will partner with Walmart International to explore the retailer's use of modeling technology to design a more competitive and efficient supply chain network, as well as to enable more rapid supply chain decision making.

Hosted by the Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA,) the 2018 Retail Supply Chain Conference is a one-of-a-kind gathering of top executives in retail supply chain. This year's conference, Retail Supply Chain: Accelerating What's Possible, will feature more than 35 interactive sessions and 6 breakout tracks offering best-in-class educational programs addressing the topics that matter most to retailers. LLamasoft will co-present alongside Walmart International to discuss its journey to supply chain network design excellence:


Walmart International: Secrets of Success for Network Design Excellence

What: This session shares how Walmart International has utilized people, process and technology to make better decisions, faster, and more frequently than its competitors. Specifically, Metersky and Buchanan will explore Walmart International's use of modeling technology to design a more competitive and efficient supply chain network and to enable more rapid supply chain decision making.

Attendees will learn how the retail giant has built an international center of excellence for supply chain design to answer questions related to store assignments, capacity planning, growth modeling and transportation route design. Attendees will also hear how Walmart International has organized its team, how it prioritizes projects and how collaborative modeling has increased productivity, while enabling for continuous redesign of its supply chain to keep up with evolving business conditions.
