Celebrate Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day By Voting For The Bubble Shape That Best Expresses You

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Now in its 60th year, the world's most beloved cushioning material, Bubble Wrap, has been reinvented to be stronger, more protective, more colorful, and a lot more fun.

Sealed Air (the company that invented and manufactures Bubble Wrap) recently launched its most imaginative inflatable packaging material: Bubble Wrap IB Expressions. The special line offers vibrant colors and creative patterns, which enhance the unboxing experience for online shoppers while preventing product damage.

To celebrate Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, which takes place today and is recognized annually the last Monday in January, Sealed Air is once again giving the public an opportunity to vote for a new pattern of Bubble Wrap IB Expressions that best expresses their individual personality.

Bubble Wrap Fans Know Best
Last year's winning design - a dog bone - quickly became the best seller in the Bubble Wrap IB Expressions line. Sealed Air is now asking Bubble Wrap fans to help pick the next inflatable bubble shape, which could start showing up in e-commerce shipments later this year.
There are four different shapes from which to choose: toys, awareness ribbon, leaf or vegetables. Visit the Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day webpage today through February 5 to cast a vote. The winning design will be revealed on Bubble Wrap's Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds February 6 at 11 a.m. EST.

About Bubble Wrap
In 1957, Alfred W. Fielding and Marc Chavannes set out to create a new wall covering by laminating two plastic sheets with air bubbles in between. Although their invention never caught on as interior decor, the two men discovered the material's light weight and insulating properties were very useful - first as greenhouse insulation and then as the packaging material we now know as Bubble Wrap®. In 1960, Fielding and Chavannes founded Sealed Air Corporation with Bubble Wrap® as the company's signature product. Learn more here.
