Ensure Pallet Rack Flue Space Compliance and Protect Work Areas

Adrian's Safety Solutions offers products to keep warehouses compliant with NFPA flue space requirements and keep workers protected.

Ensure Pallet Rack Flue Space Compliance and Protect Work Areas

Adrian's Safety Solutions will be sponsoring and exhibiting at Modex 2018, the premier manufacturing and supply chain event. Adrian's line of rack safety products offers a wide range of benefits including longitudinal flue space compliance, pallet push-through prevention, and protecting work areas from falling items.

Flue Space Compliance Solutions:
According to NFPA code, the flue space in between warehouse racking arrays must be kept clear. Adrian's offers a line of low-cost and easy-to-deploy rack safety products designed specifically with the end user in mind. Many insurance companies are requiring that a safety system be put into place to satisfy the fire code regulation.

Pallet Push-Through and other Warehouse Safety Solutions:
In addition to pressure from insurance companies, safety officers want to prevent pallet push-through so that adjacent pallets or cartons are not pushed onto workers in a separate aisle. In either scenario, warehouse managers have faced purchasing expensive rack protection systems which are difficult to install and cause the facility to face extended downtime. Adrian's pallet rack straps and rack safety nets products offer employers the ability to protect employees and goods without retrofitting racks or having lengthy downtimes.
Rack Safety Straps are mounted to the back of the rack and act as a barrier to prevent pallets from pushing through into the flue space. The Fixed Rack Safety Net adds yellow mesh to the super-strong webbing and hardware for the rack back as well. The Sliding Rack Safety Net is designed for the front of the bay to protect work areas and allow for safe and easy pick-and-pack operations. Additionally, the Rack Safety Cable, designed specifically for retail environments that use pallet racking displays, keep products from tipping into the aisle and potentially causing injury to shoppers.
Adrian's rack safety products are made from high-tenacity webbing and feature specially-designed hardware that can be attached to the existing pallet rack upright within seconds without tools.

Adrian's offers premium safety netting products in the form of the Fixed and Sliding Rack Safety Nets. The revolutionary Rack Safety Strap is a non-traditional product but just as effective at maintaining flue space.

Ease of Installation:
"We've found we can save customers 50% or more on product alone, plus the installation takes a fraction of the time versus traditional netting or beam products," said Steve Dew, president of Adrian's Safety Solutions. "We designed our products to be easy to install and less expensive than other systems to ensure companies can benefit their bottom line while keeping their employees and inventory safe." Scott Welch, materials manager with Dri-Eaz Legend Brands, a customer of Adrian's, added this, "We were able to install the same amount of safety netting in 30 minutes that used to take us nine hours with metal caging. We also saved thousands of dollars in the process."

Structural and Schaefer Rack Systems Solutions:
The rack safety connection hardware was originally designed for teardrop-style rack uprights, but fits many other styles. During the 2017 show, the demand from those with Schaefer and structural racking for a hardware-fitting solution was so great Adrian's has now designed a connection that functions perfectly for those styles of uprights.

Safety Made Simple:
Dew says the company tagline, "Safety Made Simple," speaks for itself. "We've always had the mission to advance safety measures in the workplace at a reasonable price. Rack safety solutions do not have to be complicated or expensive to work effectively, and the feedback we've received so far is that our products actually work better than more expensive, traditional products."

KUKA to Showcase Cobots for Medical Applications at AAOS Meeting

SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich., Jan. 28, 2025 – Targeting the reduction of work-related injury for healthcare workers and shortening time-to-market for medical device OEMs, KUKA Robotics will bring two advanced medical innovations featuring cobot automation to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) annual meeting in booth #540. The event takes place in San Diego, California, March 10-14, and attendees will see how KUKA’s LBR iisy cobot solution helps reduce the incidence of arm and shoulder injury to ultrasound technicians and sonographers. A second cobot demonstration will feature a KUKA Robot Development Kit using a LBR MED 14 R820 cobot that helps slash development time for unique medical device solutions.

Because of the repetitive nature of their work, sonographers and ultrasound technicians commonly experience musculoskeletal disorders such as tendonitis and rotator cuff injury from their work that requires them to apply pressure with abnormal arm and shoulder positioning. Using robot technology such as KUKA’s LBR iisy cobot, however, can take the strain off these technicians by precisely conducting these repetitive exams autonomously. Equipped with a Haply Inverse3 Hapatic Feedback Teleop Device and an OptoForce FT Sensor, the LBR iisy robotic arm can be controlled and manipulated to apply the proper amount of force to the imaging head for a proper reading.
