BDP International Opens New Office in Copenhagen

Global logistics and transportation solutions provider now has 145 offices worldwide

PHILADELPHIA — BDP International (BDP), a leading privately owned global logistics and transportation solutions company, has opened a new location in Copenhagen, Denmark. With the Copenhagen opening, BDP now has 145 office locations around the world.

The Copenhagen office is positioned strategically, catering to operations in Denmark while creating an accessible channel of service to clients based in Sweden's southern tip, offering ocean and air import and export services, customs clearance, project logistics, ground transport, and warehousing and distribution.

Kenneth Werther, BDP's newly appointed Country Manager, will oversee all BDP operations in Denmark, including activities in Copenhagen. Due to the healthy business climate of the region, the Copenhagen site is equipped to implement a full scope of logistics services, with emphasis placed on air, ocean and solution selling for customers in the chemical, petrochemical, healthcare, energy, retail, and automotive sectors.

"BDP is proud to announce the Copenhagen office as the newest addition to our global network, and newest initiative in our collective mission to provide streamlined, international coverage," said BDP Chairman and CEO Richard J. Bolte, Jr. "The Copenhagen location expands our range of operations to better accommodate clients in Denmark and Sweden. As we strengthen our presence at this intersection of two, vibrant markets, we plan to implement our full scope of logistics services at a regional and global level."

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.
