Paragon Software Systems Wins SDCE Green Supply Chain Award

Reduce Fleet Size by 20%; Lower Fuel Usage and Mileage; Benefitting Individual Organizations and the Environment

Paragon Software Systems Wins SDCE Green Supply Chain Award

Paragon announces winning the Supply & Demand Chain Executive Green Supply Chain Award for 2017. This is Paragon's third consecutive win of this prestigious award that recognizes small, mid-size and large enterprises that leverage green practices and solutions to drive sustainable suppy chain improvements. Paragon's advanced truck routing and scheduling software solutions help companies make the best use of their fleets, cut transportation costs and reduce carbon footprints.

"Paragon is honored once again to receive this award for helping clients reduce fuel usage with better route planning and cost-effective delivery schedules," said William Salter, CEO and President, Paragon Software Systems. "Excess fuel consumption not only has a financial impact on a business, it also has a global impact. Helping our customers to reduce the number of truck miles driven, and the number of trucks on the road each day, reduces the volume of carbon emissions each fleet releases."

"Honorees for this year's award demonstrate that corporate social responsibility is a business imperative that transcends the company and extends throughout the supply chain, involving suppliers and customers," says John R. Yuva, editor for Supply & Demand Chain Executive. "The number of entries only increase year over year, demonstrating how critical sustainability initiatives are within companies."

The Green Supply Chain Award recognizes companies making green or sustainability a core part of their supply chain strategy, and are working to achieve measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and supply chains. The awards also recognize providers of supply chain solutions and services assisting their customers in achieving measurable sustainability goals.

Fleet operators can reduce the size of their truck fleet by up to 20 percent with Paragon's solutions, which lower fuel usage and mileage, benefitting individual organizations and the environment as a whole. Paragon Software Systems has helped its customers make significant savings. Examples include CO2 reduced by 900,000 pounds, routes cut by 150,000 miles/week on deliveries and 143,000 gallons of gas saved.

"We congratulate this year's honorees for their commitment to sustainability and recognize their tremendous achievements," Yuva adds. "Our honorees serve as role models for supply chains globally to expand their CSR reach and impact."
