AscendTMS And FreightRover Add New Dimension To TMS for Fleets, Freight Brokers, and Shippers

AscendTMS gets logistics industry one step closer to true automation

AscendTMS And FreightRover Add New Dimension To TMS for Fleets, Freight Brokers, and Shippers

Tampa, Florida - September 19, 2017

InMotion Global, Inc. announced today that AscendTMS, the world's most popular transportation management software (TMS), has partnered with FreightRover, an ingenious load board and freight matching service, to take the industry one step closer to true paperwork automation.

The key differentiator of this integration is that a two-way connection exists between FreightRover and AscendTMS, allowing any accepted load by a carrier or driver, via the FreightRover website or app, to automatically update the AscendTMS software. Once a load is accepted by the carrier, AscendTMS is automatically updated with the correct carrier for the broker or shipper, and the load is immediately un-posted.

If the carrier also uses AscendTMS, they have the option of having the load sent to them electronically, directly into their AscendTMS account. This saves the carrier from manually typing any load into their TMS, and completely eradicates any errors for both parties.

Users of both platforms can also utilize the power of FreightRover's load posting and load searching/selection, state-of-the-art tracking and analytics, and QuickPay options, directly within the AscendTMS platform. Furthermore, all of FreightRover's current integrations (MacroPoint, Transflo, TriumphPay, and SaferWatch) are now available to AscendTMS users who utilize FreightRover's services.

The AscendTMS logistics software, including the FreightRover integration, is being provided to any FreightRover customer at no charge.

Tim Higham, president and CEO of InMotion Global, Inc. said, "Every freight broker, shipper, and carrier customer of ours have asked us help automate the repetitive typing in of loads and the updating of them as the parties book a loads. This is the first time any TMS has managed to do this. Our open API allows FreightRover to communicate with one or both parties in the transaction so we can update their TMS systems with absolutely no technical work by the AscendTMS customer."

AscendTMS will be offered to FreightRover customers at no cost to fully manage their logistics businesses. AscendTMS offers carriers, fleets, and brokers a complete business management solution for their entire logistics operation. It provides easy to use features such as full dispatch control, load searching and posting, access to 53 leading load boards, asset management, driver management, driver pay and settlement, a customer CRM with a 26,000 strong shipper directory, shipper and broker credit reports, full accounting, real-time QuickBooks integration, real-time load funding with Triumph Business Capital, a carrier payment pOréal via TriumphPay, terminal and agent management, commission management, document management, reporting, ELD integrations, driver texting, a free truckload rate index, IFTA tax reporting, fuel card imports, cargo claims handling, easy EDI for connection to large shippers and much more.

Eric Meek, CEO of FreightRover, said, "It only makes sense for us to integrate with such an innovative platform as AscendTMS. FreightRover was designed to streamline the business of transportation, and we fully believe users will be very impressed with the synergies created between these two platforms."

Higham continued, "We are very excited about this ground breaking integration because it's a true first for the industry. AscendTMS now has the ability to update users automatically as loads are covered from a load board, and that is something to get on-board with".

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.

Now the company is ready for the next step: greening up the glue.
