Crane Worldwide Logistics joins Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Crane Worldwide Logistics has thrown their support behind relief efforts in Texas, following what may be the worst and costliest natural disaster in U.S. history.

The Houston-based company announced they will be donating use of a storage warehouse to The Red Cross to act as a staging area for the organization in the month following the storm. The Red Cross have been onsite in Houston helping with the aftermath of the Hurricane Harvey, mobilizing thousands of disaster workers and providing shelters, supplies and food for tens of thousands of people.

Crane Worldwide Logistics has also deployed trucks from their fleet to deliver donated supplies to the area. The trucks transported much needed-items to Houston from a donation drive at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Beach, Florida.

"Crane Worldwide is proud to do whatever we can to help our home-town get back on its feet," says John Magee, CEO & President of Crane Worldwide Logistics, "As a logistics company we have certain resources at our disposal. We are dedicated to committing those resources to assist in the local recovery and help those affected by this disaster in any way we can."

During the hurricane, Crane Worldwide Logistics mobilized their team to coordinate land and air support and manage critical deliveries of supplies to hospitals in need.
For several days Houston's airports and seaports were on shutdown and many major roads and freeways were flooded. Delivery issues were widespread throughout the region, causing a shortage of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals. Crane Worldwide Logistics deployed seven trucks from their fleet during the storm to undertake critical last mile deliveries to hospitals in the Houston area, working closely with Texas Department of Transport to ensure the safety of their drivers.

"Through the heart of the storm our team dedicated long hours, working in difficult conditions, and navigating around high waters and closed roads to come through for our clients when they needed it most," said JD Thomas, Director of Crane Worldwide Logistics' Houston office.
"Crane Worldwide Logistics applied agility and courage to accommodate these urgent requirements when other operators were unable to do so. Hence why we call our team trusted advisors," Thomas said.

"I'm extremely proud of our team and the perseverance they have shown to keep these crucial supply chains up in running during challenging times. These deliveries could have saved lives," says Magee, "Our team have proven time, and time again that they will go above and beyond for the cause. This is no exception."

Last week, Crane Worldwide Logistics' Chairman Jim Crane pledged $4 million to the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, stating "We are committed to doing our part to provide aid and assistance to the thousands of Houston-area residents that are desperately in need right now. We encourage others in our region and beyond to help out in any way that they can."
