Spend Management Experts (SME), a leading transportation spend management consultancy, today announced its third consecutive sponsorship of the Keynote & Game Changer Awards Luncheon, as well as its role as a session leader and exhibitor, at the 15th annual PARCEL Forum, September 18-20 in Nashville, Tennessee. The three-day event features over 50 sessions lead by the foremost thought leaders in the industry covering a range of topics to improve parcel delivery.

The spend management consultancy has partnered with PARCEL Forum to sponsor the Game Changer of the Year Awards program and keynote luncheon featuring speaker Anthony Foxx, 17th United States Secretary of Transportation and former mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina. As Secretary of Transportation, he led an agency with more than 55,000 employees and a budget of $70 billion overseeing American air, maritime, and surface transportation and ensuring that America maintained the safest, most efficient transportation system in the world.

Foxx will also be at the Spend Management Experts' booth (#108) following the conclusion of the luncheon at 2: 30 p.m. for a brief meet and greet with attendees.

Founder & CEO of Spend Management Experts, John Haber, comes into his sixth year speaking at the Forum and will lead a business-focused educational learning pod along with Jay Kent, managing director of SLBperformance, on Evaluating DC Efficiencies (Tuesday, September 19, 2017; 9: 00 - 9: 50 a.m.). In this session, Haber and Kent emphasize a comprehensive evaluation of distribution centers, optimizing your ship-to-order cycle and focus on implementing systems within automated distribution centers to streamline fulfillment.

In addition to Haber's presentation, SME will participate in two sessions. Brian Broadhurst, vice-president of transportation solutions, is featured as part of a panel in Optimizing Your International Supply Chain (Monday, September 18, 2017; 9: 00 a.m. - 1: 00 p.m. lunch and tour to follow), a four-hour workshop discussing how e-commerce is redefining the way companies do business while at the same time redefining customer expectations on delivery and selection. In this session, attendees will learn the key drivers of international e-commerce growth, understand how it impacts alternative shipping methods, develop an understanding of carrier and fulfillment options and more.

Broadhurst joins Haber for the session Out-of-the- Box Delivery Options Make Quick Transportation Possible (Tuesday, September 19, 12: 00 - 12: 50 p.m.). Haber and Broadhurst will discuss the increasing need for speed as a competitive differentiator among retailers. As retailers pursue omnichannel fulfillment strategies and carriers look for alternative delivery modes, Haber and Broadhurst review tips and tools to minimize costs while decreasing time-in-transit, discuss how effective data utilization improves speed of delivery and how partnering with carriers enhances a retailers competitive edge within in their supply chain.

Since 2003, business-to-business (B2B) and direct-to-consumer (i.e., home delivery) shippers of small-packages (70lbs & under) have attended PARCEL Forum to learn how to ship more packages, more frequently, more efficiently and more cost-effectively. "We are excited to be a part of the PARCEL and sponsor the Keynote Luncheon Forum and to share insights with supply chain executives looking to get ahead of the e-commerce curve," said Haber. "E-commerce is driving new expectations for the way consumers have access to and can purchase goods and retailers must respond accordingly by re-evaluating their supply chain distribution and fulfillment methods in this global transportation industry and economy"
