Sbarro Partners with ArrowStream to Uncover Supply Chain Cost Savings

Iconic quick service restaurant chain to utilize ArrowStream's OnDemand technology to power its supply chain

ArrowStream, Inc., ("ArrowStream") a supply chain innovator that combines expertise in data science and analytics to improve the way supply chains perform, today announced that Sbarro, the iconic quick service restaurant known for its XL New York style pizza by the slice, has licensed ArrowStream's market-leading OnDemand software to support managing food spend, contracts, and inventory tracking.

Like most restaurant brands, Sbarro runs a lean purchasing and supply chain department, yet the savings they uncover for the company's bottom line are paramount. Sbarro needed clean data, expanded visibility, and an efficient way to provide cost savings opportunities without getting buried in spreadsheets. Top priorities for Sbarro included management of supplier and distributor pricing along with spend reduction by category.

"ArrowStream's technology is going to shed light on countless opportunities for Sbarro to realize cost savings in our supply chain," said Robert Gerlach, Vice President of Supply Chain Management, Sbarro. "Once we saw the OnDemand platform and how quickly it identifies opportunities in an easy-to- view format, we knew this solution was an investment that made perfect sense."

Sbarro is the latest major food chain to partner with ArrowStream, joining Hooters, Shake Shack and Craftworks as recent additions to a portfolio of customers that include Popeyes, Golden Corral, Panda Restaurants, and Einstein Noah. OnDemand empowers restaurant chains to quickly identify price variance savings opportunities and proactively address the most pressing threats in their supply chains by centralizing inventory, contract, and quality assurance information. OnDemand's streamlined interface eliminates the need for traditional data mining by bringing specific challenges to the forefront, and by cleansing, merging, and mapping restaurant data that enables immediate action to be taken. Restaurant supply chain and purchasing departments have a single source of truth with OnDemand, allowing them to make better tactical and strategic decisions.

"What a great way to start off in 2017 by bringing Sbarro into the ArrowStream family," said Jeff Dorr, Chief Customer Officer, ArrowStream. "Sbarro is yet another iconic brand that will be utilizing OnDemand to improve its supply chain operation and drive significant cost savings. OnDemand is a battle-tested industry-leading solution, and with the soon-to-be released enhancements that are on the horizon, we'll be raising the bar even higher for foodservice supply chain technology."
