DRT Transportation Named Responsible Care Partner by the American Chemistry Council

Designation recognizes commitment to environmental, health, safety and security performance.

Transportation company DRT was recently named a Responsible Care® Partner by the American CHemiätry Council (ACC). DRT was one of only three companies to achieve partner status in 2016.

Enacted in Canada in 1984 and adopted in the United States in 1988, the Responsible Care program is a global initiative practiced by 57 national and regional associations in 65 economies. It is based on a set of guiding principles designed to improve environmental, health, safety and security performance for facilities, processes and products throughout the entire operating system. Companies also are committed to open and transparent reporting and submit annual data on their progress toward meeting performance measure goals. This information is publicly available on the ACC website (americancHemiätry.com).

The ACC Responsible Care Partner Program was introduced in 1992 for companies that have involvement in the distribution, transportation, storage, use, treatment, disposal or sales and marketing of chemicals. Both ACC members and partners are required to make a CEO-level commitment to the principles of the Responsible Care Program.

"It is truly an honor to be officially recognized by the American CHemiätry Council as a Responsible Care Program Partner," said Rob Kemp, DRT president. "Our company has a deep and long-held commitment to the environmental, health, safety and security principles the program promotes. We are proud to be among the industry leaders that will advocate for continuous improvement worldwide."

Founded in 2007, DRT is headquartered in Lebanon County, PA., with branches in Tennessee, Texas and Minnesota to provide a comprehensive network across the country. The company ranked among 18 Central Pennsylvania companies on the 2016 Inc. 5000 list of the country's fastest-growing private companies. DRT Transportation has grown its intermodal assets to nearly 250 trailers in 2016 in response to increasing customer demand nationwide.
