PeopleNet Named Finalist for 17th Annual Tekne Awards

MHTA to honor Minnesota's top technology companies and individuals at the Nov. 16 awards ceremony

MINNEAPOLIS - November 3, 2016 -PeopleNet® (www.peoplenetonline.com), a Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) Company and leading provider of fleet mobility technology, today announced that it was named as a finalist for the 2016 Tekne Awards. Presented by the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA), this year's Tekne Awards program will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Wednesday, Nov. 16.

PeopleNet is a finalist in the Internet of Things category for its Video Intelligence system. Launched earlier this year, Video Intelligence gives fleets reliable driver safety analytics and on-demand video recall to help identify training opportunities to reduce accidents and improve safety on the road for all drivers.

"We are honored to be recognized by MHTA for our continued commitment to provide the trucking industry with technology that helps save lives," said PeopleNet President Brian McLaughlin. "Our Video Intelligence platform not only allows fleets to reduce accident costs, but gives them valuable training material to help improve driver safety and prevent future accidents."

PeopleNet's Video Intelligence solution is the first system to trigger video from company-controlled settings from a truck's Onboard Event Recorder (OER), augmenting traditional driver and truck analytics. An in-cab digital video recorder (DVR) wirelessly transmits videos from up to three cameras to the PeopleNet Fleet Manager, a secure online control system for communications and carrier fleet management functions.

Presented by the MHTA, the Tekne Awards annually recognize Minnesota's best and brightest technology users and developers in innovation, development, education, commercialization and management.

"Each year, MHTA seeks out companies and people leading the way in innovation in Minnesota," said Margaret Anderson Kelliher, president and CEO of MHTA. "These advancements are changing the way people all over the world live and work, and the Tekne Awards recognize those achievements."
