NeoGrid founder will present "From Sell-In to Sell-Out and Beyond" in addition to the company's services director and supply chain consultant co-presenting, "Impact of Sales Concentration Over Constrained Delivery Date Distribution Systems"

NeoGrid Experts to Speak at the TOCICO Conference

CHICAGO - Sept. 15, 2016 - NeoGrid, a global technology provider of end-to-end supply chain management solutions, announces that, in addition to being bronze and technology sponsors, it will have three experts speak at the 2016 Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization (TOCICO) Conference, scheduled for Sept. 18-21 in Leesburg, Virginia. NeoGrid Founder Miguel Abuhab's presentation, "From Sell-In to Sell-Out and Beyond," will discuss technology's impact on turning supply chains into demand-driven systems in which replenishment is based on actual consumption. Additionally, Camilo Manfredi, services director, and Marchelo Zanin, supply chain consultant, will co-present a session entitled, "Impact of Sales Concentration Over Constrained Delivery Date Distribution Systems" at the event.

Camilo Manfredi, services director, NeoGrid, said, "In order to increase sales and reduce out-of-stocks, manufacturers need to fully optimize delivery schedules. This presentation takes a look at the standard distribution systems supported by third-party freight contractors and real data to help manufacturers determine the most optimized combination to maximize throughput and at the same time prevent loss sales and if exchanging trip limits between stores leads to better results."

Abuhab's speaking session is slated for 10: 00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 19. The following day, Tuesday, Sept. 20, Manfredi and Zanin will present at 9: 15 a.m. For more information, visit https://www.tocico.org/mpage/2016ConfHomesite.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.

Now the company is ready for the next step: greening up the glue.
