Dropoff Same-Day Delivery Expands to South Florida

Starting in Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Dropoff brings its technology-based, on-demand delivery solution to Florida

Dropoff Same-Day Delivery Expands to South Florida

Today, Dropoff, the company reinventing on-demand, same-day delivery for businesses, announced its latest expansion into two new cities, Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The launch brings its proprietary logistics technology and highly-rated service to Florida for the first time. Local and national businesses that call South Florida home will now be able to better serve their customers with on-demand, same-day delivery from Dropoff.

The company will support a variety of industries throughout Miami and Fort Lauderdale, including healthcare, retail, commercial and industrial, professional services, and food and grocery, and is already working with multiple clients.

"The launch into Miami and Fort Lauderdale is an exciting step for us," said Sean Spector, CEO of Dropoff. "Our goal is to be the first national same-day delivery provider for businesses, and Florida was a logical next step in the expansion of our technology platform and 5 star-rated service. Now, Dropoff is available in all three of the most populous states in the U.S., allowing us to better serve our national and regional clients."

After a successful expansion into California in July, Dropoff is excited to launch its service on the East Coast. At the core of Dropoff's offerings is its proprietary technology platform, which includes web and mobile ordering capabilities, real-time tracking and confirmations, a fast, scalable, 24/7/365 dispatch automation named Intelligent Dispatch, and a feature-rich API for easy integration into clients' e-commerce sites or warehouse management software.

Dropoff works with leading brands across many sectors relying on last mile delivery to get items into the hands of their customers quickly and professionally, including Whole Foods, Sprinkles Cupcakes, Neiman Marcus, Zazzle, Amerita Infusion Service, JW Marriott, and Cushman & Wakefield | Oxford Commercial. Dropoff currently serves businesses in Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and Los Angeles. Dropoff will continue to expand to additional cities and states throughout the second half of the year.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.

Now the company is ready for the next step: greening up the glue.
