Elemica Wins Gold Stevie® American Business Award

Wayne, PA- May 02, 2016 - Elemica, the leading Supply Chain Operating Network for the process industries, announces that the company was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the 14th Annual American Business Awards. Elemica's video series, "Elemicans in Cars Talkin' Supply Chain," was selected for the top prize in the video category for technology sales.

"This is an awesome award for the Elemica Marketing Team, whose hard work and innovative thinking are showcased," said Ed Rusch, Global VP Marketing at Elemica. "I want to thank all the product managers and other Elemica leaders who took part in making this series informative and a great way to promote the Elemica network and solutions."

The American Business Awards are the nation's premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations - public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word meaning "crowned," the awards will be presented to winners at a gala ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Monday, June 20. Tickets are now on sale.

More than 3,400 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Live Event of the Year, and App of the Year, among others. Elemica was nominated in the Sales: Industrial and Technology category for video.

The Elemica Marketing Team created "Elemicans in Cars Talkin' Supply Chain" video series featuring technology innovators, thought leaders and change agents sharing their big ideas, lessons learned and best practices of the supply chain. The conversations challenge thinking and validate ideas for improving the supply chain of businesses in the process industries, using Elemica's supply chain operating network and solutions.

Some of the judges commented on "Elemicans in Cars Talkin' Supply Chain," by saying, "Great concept - entertaining, personable and informative. As a vehicle for internal audiences, it offers great exposure to cross functional leaders and teams; for external audiences - this could be a strong recruiting and sales enablement tool." Another described the video series as, "Interesting use of a 'non-office' environment. Allows for a comfortable conversation on business i.e. supply chain. Friendly and warm production."

More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year's Stevie Award winners.

"The judges were extremely impressed with the quality of entries we received this year. The competition was intense and every organization that has won should be proud," said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002.
