Safe Chain Solutions Expands, Opens Distribution Center in Kentucky

Expansion will increase product offerings and provide faster service to customers.

Safe Chain Solutions, a Benchworks Company, is pleased to announce that it has expanded its operations by opening a new wholesale distribution center in Louisville, Kentucky. The centralized location consists of warehouse and office space.

The Louisville distribution center will allow Safe Chain to add new product lines to its current offerings and inventory. Safe Chain's Kentucky sales force will focus on the hospital, pharmacy, and surgery center market segment. The new location will require additional employees as the company expands its operational footprint.

Safe Chain Managing Partner Patrick Boyd said, "The opening of our Kentucky office will help us serve our customers better by offering more products. In addition, customers may realize savings in time and dollars since this office is more centrally located. In many instances, it will cut transit time and potentially decrease shipping costs." Boyd continued, saying, "This is an exciting time for us. We look forward to building solid working relationships with the business community in Louisville and appreciate how we have been welcomed into this wonderful city."

Benchworks CEO Thad Bench commented on the expansion, saying, "Our vision for Safe Chain is to provide the very best products and services to its customers, and this expansion helps us meet that objective. We expect that the company will continue to grow and thrive as new jobs are created and additional product lines are offered."

Safe Chain is a rapidly growing distributor serving customers worldwide through its two divisions: Logistics Solutions and Healthcare Solutions. Headquartered in Cambridge, Maryland, the company has sales offices in Miami and Louisville, Kentucky, as well as Annapolis, Maryland. The company's digital development office is in Nagpur, India. Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.

Now the company is ready for the next step: greening up the glue.
