FourKites Announces Technology Partnership with McLeod Software

FourKites Announces Technology Partnership with McLeod Software

Chicago, IL; Birmingham, AL - (March 30, 2016) - FourKites, the most comprehensive load tracking technology platform in the market, today announced that it has integrated with McLeod Software, the industry leading provider of transportation management software. The integration makes FourKites' tracking technology available to users of McLeod Software's advanced, enterprise-wide, end-to-end brokerage management software, PowerBroker®.

FourKites is integrated with more than 40 ELD/GPS providers powering the trucking industry. ELD will be required by virtually all trucks by the end of next year. In addition to proprietary smartphone apps, FourKites' recently launched an App-Less tracking technology using cell tower triangulation that works on virtually any cell phone. App-less tracking is only $1 per load for updates every hour.

FourKites tracks truck locations every 15 minutes, recalculates ETA using real-time location data, and automates arrivals and departures using robust geo-fencing technologies. Integration allows McLeod's customers to access all of this powerful information within their PowerBroker software. Integration virtually eliminates the need for check calls to drivers and dispatchers, and saves customers both time and money.

"We're very pleased with this integration that enables McLeod's brokerage customers to access our most comprehensive, most affordable tracking service," said FourKites CEO Mathew Elenjickal. "We look forward to a long, mutually beneficial relationship."

"The inclusion of FourKites' load tracking application as part of PowerBroker's Brokerage Tracking module helps strengthen the choices our brokerage customers have in their need to implement a tracking solution. The partnership between McLeod Software and FourKites will ensure a quality end-to-end solution for our mutual customers," said Robert Brothers, Manager of Product Development at McLeod Software.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.
