FourKites Hires Industry Veteran Dave Walker as the Chief Revenue Officer

Chicago, IL — (Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016) — FourKites, Inc., the market leader in cloud-based supply chain visibility and real-time tracking, has announced that Dave Walker has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

With over 25 years of experience, Dave has been an integral part of the senior management team at multiple early-stage SaaS and software startups, many of which he helped guide through IPOs and acquisitions. Most recently Dave was VP of North American Sales at Trusteer, acquired by IBM in 2013.

As CRO of FourKites, Dave will be responsible for building a global sales organization with a scalable revenue generation model and systems that can accommodate the rapidly growing sales team and service offerings. While leading the company through expanding stages of growth, Dave will be creating and monitoring goals, revenue strategy, and channel partnerships.

"I'm excited to be part of such an experienced team whose mission aligns with my experience: we are addressing the critical and strategic gaps in the transportation and supply chain industries, namely supply chain visibility via real-time tracking for shippers, 3PLs, brokers, and carriers who need to know the locations of all of their freight," said Dave.

"Dave has an outstanding history of creating and executing strong revenue, sales, and financial goals for the companies he has worked with in the past. Dave's breadth of experience in building high power sales organizations at SaaS startups positions him as the absolute best person to execute the growth strategy that our investors and I have set," said Mathew Elenjickal, CEO of FourKites.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.

Now the company is ready for the next step: greening up the glue.
