WEEGO - THE MARINE, AUTOMOTIVE AND POWERSPORTS INDUSTRY'S MOST RELIABLE PORTABLE POWER BRAND JUMPS AHEAD WITH ANOTHER ADDITION TO SALES & MARKETING TEAM

WESTAMPTON, N.J. (Jan. 26, 2016) - Weego, innovator of portable jump starters and rechargeable battery packs, announced the hiring of Jon Kluiter as the company's new Channel Sales Manager. In this role, Jon is responsible for business development and sales management of the marine, automotive, powersports, outdoor, e-commerce and industrial channels plus all international business. Jon's hire reflects the growth of Weego and the company's confidence in the future of the portable power category. Jon is Weego's third major addition to the team in the last few months, following Berdj Mazmanian (product development) and Frank Rodriquez (product engineering).

Jon has over 15 years of progressive sales experience with the majority of his career in the powersports industry. He spent 10 years with Fulmer Helmets, the largest, self-distributed helmet brand in the USA. Jon was responsible for managing the western region which became the fastest growing region within the company. Never one to sit still - and channeling his inner lead guitar, hair-metal band passion - Jon took a six-year detour founding a musical instrument business, growing it into a multi-million dollar venture. He later sold his company and got back into powersports, rising through the ranks to most recently become the managing director of H&H Sports Protection.

"We are seeing greater demand in our products, so increasing the Weego team to be able to accommodate and take on more opportunities is the right thing to do. I am very happy to bring Jon on board," said Gerry Toscani, CEO of Weego. "Jon's experience and competitive, need-to-win nature will be a huge asset in helping us grow our brand into new as well as existing channels. Based on 2015 successes and the groundwork that's already been laid for 2016, I'm confident that expanding our Weego sales and marketing team gives us the bandwidth to take on even more."

Weego brings power to consumers with a growing line of portable jump starters, battery packs and accessories. Weego Jump Starter Battery+ is capable of getting motorists, boaters and adventure riders out of a drained battery jam by starting an engine, charging a phone and fitting in your pocket. Weego products are essential for everyone, from moms to mechanics, providing peace-of-mind in emergencies and in everyday use.

Australian supermarket chain rolls out AI-powered grocery carts

Grocery shoppers in Australia will soon be able to zip in and out of the store in record time, bypassing the lines for cashiers or self-checkout kiosks altogether. They can just walk in, make their selections, and walk out with their bags in hand.

The secret to this express shopping experience is the “Caper Cart,” an AI (artificial intelligence)-powered smart trolley from San Francisco-based Instacart. In its first deployment in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, the system is being tested by Coles Supermarkets, a food and beverage retailer with more than 1,800 grocery and liquor stores throughout the country.

How green is your glue?

If you’re looking to make the packaging process more eco-friendly, the obvious place to start is with the box itself. And that’s exactly what Salt Lake City-based Packsize did when it made its initial foray into sustainable packaging back in 2002. That year, the company launched its first product, an innovative on-demand packaging system designed to reduce cardboard waste (and the need for filler material) by creating a right-sized box for each shipment.
