The name might be new to the industry, but the automated material handling solutions company Trew was built on the foundation of two well-established companies, Hilmot and Tech King Operations, with experienced leadership that spans decades in the material handling industry.
"ProMat is the perfect place for Trew to launch our brand and debut our capabilities," said Mark Tefand, CEO of Trew, in a statement.
The company provided live demonstrations of its robotic palletizing and depalletizing equipment at ProMat. Made possible through a collaboration with Exact Automation, the demo featured two Fanuc robotic arms and end-of-arm tooling for totes provided by Exact, as well as an MDR (motor-driven roller) case and pallet conveyor with inclining and declining spirals from Hilmot.
Trew software and control capabilities were also on display, specifically the Tech King Operations SmartMoves-WX warehouse execution system (WES), Champ warehouse control system (WCS), programmable logic controller (PLC)- and server-based system controls, and Hilmot local controls that enable plug and play for the Hilmot MDR conveyor.
