Kion North America has launched a full line of equipment for the North American warehouse market, combining the strength of its Kion, Linde, and Dematic brands, the company said during a press conference Monday.
The line includes eight new Linde brand warehouse vehicles, an automated Linde very-narrow-aisle vehicle powered by Dematic, and a fully integrated fleet asset management software solution. The combined offering addresses industry trends toward energy savings, automation, and digitization, said Susanna Schneeberger, chief digital officer of Kion Group AG.
Kion said it is leveraging its strength in the AGV (automated guided vehicle) market by introducing the technology to its Linde industrial trucks to provide "more affordable and reliable hybrid mobile automated supply chain solutions." The technology can help reduce operating costs and provide more flexible solutions in the warehouse, company leaders said.
With Dematic's asset management software, Sprocket, customers can connect to automation software and merge forklift truck data with ERP data in one management program, reducing downtime and improving cost management, company leaders also said.
"We are the warehouse," Kion North America's CEO, Vincent Halma, said during the press conference, emphasizing the combined strength and longevity of the brands under the Kion Group umbrella.
