Lift truck company The Raymond Corp.'s distribution network will now be selling, servicing, and providing parts for Plug Power's GenDrive hydrogen fuel cell units in North America.
"Through this agreement, Raymond and its sales and service center network can aid companies in the deployment of fuel cell-powered lift trucks and provide ongoing service and support throughout the life of the trucks," said Chuck Pascarelli, president of sales and marketing for Raymond.
GenDrive fuel cell power units can be used in Raymond's Model 8400 pallet trucks, Model 4100 and 4200 stand-up counterbalanced trucks, and some Model 7400 Reach-Fork trucks. Raymond expects to continue to extend fuel cell technology to more of its lift truck models in the future.
As an added incentive, companies that purchase a hydrogen fuel cell unit can receive a 30 percent tax rebate through the end of the year and a tax credit through 2016.
