Vocollect introduced its new president of supply chain, Joe Payer, to the industry during ProMat 2009. The voice-technology supplier also presented two new products that will be offered this spring in alliance with key suppliers.
Vocollect Voice will soon be available on the new Intermec CK3 rugged mobile computer. This means that Vocollect is now offered on mobile products from leading computer suppliers, including Motorola (Symbol), Psion Teklogix, and LXE as well as Intermec. The Intermec CK3 handles a wide range of DC- and warehouse-based applications, including order picking, receiving, put-away, transfers, returns, cycle-counting, and loading.
In addition, Vocollect also unveiled the new SRX wireless headset for the second generation of the Psion Teklogix Workabout Pro mobile computer. The new headset will actually allow workers the freedom to leave their computer units on their lift trucks or near a rack location and wear the headset by itself. They can then pick products up to 30 feet away without being encumbered by cords or a belt pack.
