ADSI, a systems integrator of distribution and automation services, rolled out three additional features of the company's "ADSI Shipper" multi-carrier shipping application. One feature provides automatic updates for fuel surcharges imposed by UPS. A second automatically identifies whether a destination is a residential or commercial address, thus ensuring that shipments are routed accurately and that companies avoid unnecessary shipping charges. The third feature fully integrates with the federal government's Automated Export System (AES) for companies shipping internationally. Exporters must electronically file their AES documents, and they face stiff fines if they file incorrectly or don't file at all. The module automates the filing process, eliminating filing errors that could result in costly penalties, ADSI said.
