FedEx Ground marks opening of Lehigh Valley hub

Logistics and transportation provider FedEx Corp. will host a grand opening ceremony November 9 to mark the opening of its newest and largest FedEx Ground distribution hub, in Lehigh Valley, PA, the company said.

The 850,000 square-foot distribution center is part of the company's network expansion plan, which has added 17 major hubs and expanded or relocated another 500 facilities since 2005. FedEx Ground said the Lehigh Valley facility employs 1,000 people and will add positions as demand grows.

Daily package volume at FedEx Ground has more than doubled in the past 10 years, the company said.

FedEx Ground is the ground delivery subsidiary of FedEx Corp.
