Dawson Healthcare Solutions and ParcelShield merge

Parcel management companies join forces under ParcelShield brand to better serve specialty pharmacy and healthcare markets, companies say.

Parcel management firms Dawson Healthcare Solutions and ParcelShield joined forces in a merger announced this week. The company will be managed through ParcelShield Holdings, LLC, and will go to market under the ParcelShield brand, the companies said.

The merger brings together Dawson Healthcare Solutions' customer experience and logistics management expertise with ParcelShied's artificial intelligence-based predictive analytics technology platform, the companies also said.

"Historically, pharmaceutical package management can be full of variables that our teams track and manage around the clock to prevent delays and losses," Doug Dawson, CEO of ParcelShield Holdings, said in a statement announcing the merger. "The AI technology developed and used exclusively by ParcelShield constantly plans for and responds to these variables and will help us devote even more focus to the high-touch support and service we provide to our healthcare customers. This boosts on-time parcel deliveries and further mitigates costly medication losses."

Wreaths Across America seeks carriers for December mission

National nonprofit Wreaths Across America (WAA) kicked off its 2024 season this week with a call for volunteers. The group, which honors U.S. military veterans through a range of civic outreach programs, is seeking trucking companies and professional drivers to help deliver wreaths to cemeteries across the country for its annual wreath-laying ceremony, December 14.

“Wreaths Across America relies on the transportation industry to move the mission. The Honor Fleet, composed of dedicated carriers, professional drivers, and other transportation partners, guarantees the delivery of millions of sponsored veterans’ wreaths to their destination each year,” Courtney George, WAA’s director of trucking and industry relations, said in a statement Tuesday. “Transportation partners benefit from driver retention and recruitment, employee engagement, positive brand exposure, and the opportunity to give back to their community’s veterans and military families.”
