Third-party logistics (3PL) provider Redwood Logistics said today it has launched a cross-border service between the U.S. and Mexico, and has named one of the market's most seasoned executives to head it.
The service, called "Redwood Mexico," will be run by Troy Ryley, who joined Redwood last month and has worked in the cross-border logistics market for nearly two decades. Ryley established and partly owned the Mexico operation for Frisco, Texas-based 3PL Transplace, where he spent 10 years. Prior to that, he was Mexico country manager for Seattle-based freight forwarding and brokerage giant Expeditors, and headed Mexican operations for Danish liner shipping giant Maersk Line.
Chicago-based Redwood said that Mike Finn will serve as the operation's senior vice president of sales, and that Jordan Dewart will be the managing director.
Redwood said the moves will bolster its presence on the U.S.-Mexican border, where it has operated for years.
