Truckstop.com integrates payment platform with MercuryGate TMS

Combination allows brokers, shippers, and 3PLs to manage payments through their TMS, Truckstop.com says.

Truckstop.com, which operates a load board service that matches freight with truckload carriers offering non-contract, or "spot" market services, said today it has integrated its payment platform software with MercuryGate International Inc.'s transportation management system (TMS), extending the relationship between the two companies.

The move allows brokers, shippers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to manage payments via their TMS through Truckstop.com's payment platform, called LoadPay, New Plymouth, Idaho-based Truckstop.com said.

Giving users a single payment platform will let them increase back-office efficiencies and simplify payment reconciliation, the firm said. In addition, the integration increases visibility and control for brokers and shippers, while supporting quick payment options for carriers, according to Truckstop.com.

The announcement adds another layer of service to the cooperation between the two firms following a move in 2016 move to integrate Truckstop.com's "OnBoarding" tool with MercuryGate's TMS. That step allowed carriers that have gone through the Truckstop.com OnBoarding process to get automatically placed within the MercuryGate Carrier Management system, according to Truckstop.com.

The latest integration also marks Truckstop.com's latest move to capture more users for its payment platform. The company has also integrated its LoadPay platform with TMS platforms from providers such as McLeod Software Corp.
