Elite Transit Solutions, a Pittsburgh-based logistics and freight management service provider, has moved its corporate offices to the Cultural District in downtown Pittsburgh. The move is necessitated by fast growth, as the company also intends to add at least 50 employees this year.
Elite is centering its growth on its technology platforms that manage transportation moves. The new Pittsburgh location will allow it to tap into the tech knowledge and talent pools spouting from nearby universities, including Carnegie Mellon and the University of Pittsburgh.
"The freight management industry is experiencing its most rapid period of change in generations," said Michael Johnson, Elite's CEO. Implementation of the federal government's mandate requiring most trucks to be equipped with electronic logging devices (ELD) and the continuing shortage of qualified truck drivers, mean that "that tech forward-thinking companies will have a distinct advantage in the marketplace," he said.
Elite Transit Solutions began operations in 2013. Fast growth since that time has landed it as an honoree on the 2017 Inc. 5000 list. Clients include food and beverage, OEM, industrial, and chemical companies.
