Mark your calendars!

Looking for education opportunities? Upcoming conferences organized by WERC and the Transportation & Logistics Council may fill the bill.

As the May conference calendar makes clear, the spring travel season will be a busy one.

From May 2-4, the Transportation & Logistics Council will hold its 42nd annual conference in Albuquerque, N.M. The agenda includes general sessions on topics such as a transportation industry update with Transportation Intermediaries Association president and CEO Robert Voltmann; a session on supply chain security with a discussion of best practices for minimizing exposure to theft and hijacking; and a legal session titled "Law of the Land, Law of the Jungle," where "lawyers explain the law, and businessmen tell it like it is."

Luncheon speakers include industry figures such as Coyote Logistics CEO Jeff Silver on the first day, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) deputy administrator Daphne Y. Jefferson on the second day. Register for the T&LC conference here.

Later that month, logistics professionals will gather in Providence, R.I., to attend the Warehousing Education and Research Council's (WERC) 39th annual conference. Attendees at the event, which takes place May 15-18, can choose from continuing education programs, network with peers, participate in facility tours, and check out the latest products and technology.

General session speakers include Merril Hoge, the ESPN football analyst and former NFL running back, who will discuss "How to Always Find a Way, in Spite of Obstacles and Setbacks," and Destin Sandlin, the rocket engineer and host of a popular YouTube series, who will speak on "The 'Smarter Every Day' Way: Look at the World Differently."
