Conveyor-equipment firm Dorner Manufacturing Corp. will merge with FlexMove System, a Penang, Malaysia-based manufacturer of flexible chain conveyors, the companies said Tuesday.
Dorner, of Hartland, Wisc., designs and manufactures precision industrial and sanitary conveyor systems. The merger is a move to expand the material handling systems provider's global geographic coverage and to complement its product line, the company said.
The firm's parent company, Dorner Holding Corp., will acquire FlexMove, which specializes in the food, beverage, automotive, and electronics industries.
This is the latest move by Dorner in an effort to move into new markets outside the U.S. The company appointed a new vice president of international development in July, named an international sales manager for Latin America in October, and opened a new Canadian office in Burlington, Ontario, in November.
