  • Diamond Phoenix has announced two additions to its expanding systems sales team. Emma Shin has joined the company as a systems sales manager. Shin, who will operate from Denver, will serve national accounts and specific target markets. She comes to Diamond Phoenix from her most recent position as Midwest district sales director for DC VELOCITY and CSCMP's Supply Chain Quarterly. Also joining the company as a systems sales manager is Mark Dressel. Dressel, who will operate from Minneapolis, will serve retail industry clients on a national account basis. Prior to joining Diamond Phoenix, Dressel served in a variety of positions at DPI, Option III, DMH, and White Storage and Retrieval.
  • Mallory International Logistics has formed a new Client Services Group aimed at assuring high levels of service execution and customer satisfaction. Donna Lemm has been named director of the new group. Lemm, who has been with Mallory for five years, was previously director of business development. Hazel Gregory has been hired as the new group's manager. She brings 15 years of experience in the customer service industry to her new position.
  • Westfalia Technologies has made two new hires. James Miller has been named to the business development team, and Bill Daniel has joined the sales team as an account executive. Both will work with clients seeking to install the company's automated storage and retrieval systems. Miller comes to Westfalia from JSM & Associates, a consulting firm in Louisville, Ky., while Daniel was most recently with HK Systems.
  • CIT Group has announced two appointments to the management team at CIT Rail. Daniel DiStefano has joined the company as senior vice president and general manager. He will be responsible for sales and portfolio management of CIT's locomotive fleet, which consists of more than 500 locomotives that are leased to Class 1 and short-line railroads throughout North America. Paul Curry has been promoted to senior vice president. He will lead CIT Rail's sales efforts in the Northeast and Southeast, as well as in several Midwestern states.
  • Thomas Kelly is the new president and CEO of Epicor Software Corp. He has been a member of Epicor's board of directors since 2000 and will continue to serve on the board in his new capacity. Kelly, who brings more than 25 years of experience to his new position, most recently served as chairman and CEO of MontaVista Software.
  • Malcolm Reid has been named vice president of sales at Dynamic Handling Concepts, the U.S. distributor for Fantuzzi sideloaders, container handlers, and forklifts. Dynamic Handling Concepts is also the North American distributor for Votex-Bison four-way sideloaders. Reid has more than 20 years of experience developing sales and service through dealer networks.
  • Andrew Breckenridge has been promoted to president of Forte, an Ohio-based supply chain consulting and integration firm. Breckenridge, who joined Forte two years ago as senior vice president of client services, has over 20 years of experience in supply chain management, process optimization, and business strategy development.
  • Ozburn-Hessey Logistics has hired Mark Holmes as its new vice president of global integrated solutions. He has experience as an independent consultant and also worked as national supply chain practice director at Collaborative Consulting in Burlington, Mass. Holmes will develop integrated solutions in a newly created department within OH Logistics.
  • ASW Global, a supply chain management company headquartered in Akron, Ohio, has made several appointments to its management team. Robert Glenn Sims is the new senior vice president/COO. Carolyn Pizzuto has been named senior vice president of corporate planning. And George Hand has been appointed senior vice president-strategic acquisitions and market alignment.
  • Automatic Systems, a Kansas City-based manufacturer of automated material handling systems for the automotive, industrial, and power generation industries, has promoted Michael Hoehn to president and chief operating officer. Hoehn, who joined the company in 2003, had been vice president of finance and operations since 2006.

Cimcorp's new CEO sees growth in grocery and tire segments

Logistics automation systems integrator Cimcorp today named company insider Veli-Matti Hakala as its new CEO, saying he will cultivate growth in both the company and its clientele, specifically in the grocery retail and tire plant logistics sectors.

An eight-year veteran of the Georgia company, Hakala will begin his new role on January 1, when the current CEO, Tero Peltomäki, will retire after a long and noteworthy career, continuing as a member of the board of directors, Cimcorp said.
