  • Intelligrated has made several recent appointments to its management team. Susan Rider joins the company as senior vice president of sales and marketing. Rider, a well-known industry consultant, has held executive positions in the past at RedPrairie and Manhattan Associates. She is also a past president of WERC.

    Also recently promoted to the newly created positions of vice president of regional operations are Eric Palotas, Northeast operations; Etienne Puckett, Southeast operations; and Brad Bijonowski, Southwest operations.
  • TNT Logistics North America has promoted Steve Gundlach to vice president of its fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) business sector. He has been with the company since 1997, most recently as general manager for FMCG in Indianapolis. TNT also promoted Dennis Gerard to director of operations services. He will be responsible for new business startups, lean process implementations and warehouse productivity programs.
  • Professional Conveyor Inc. has a new name: Nationwide Conveyor Specialists, LLC. The company specializes in installations, refurbishments and replacement of conveyor systems for the baggage handling, aircargo and package- and unit-handling industries.
  • FedEx Express has launched the cargo industry's first daily express service between mainland China and Europe. The flights, from Shanghai to Frankfurt, Germany, were added in response to burgeoning volumes in that trade lane as Europe became China's number one trading partner this past year.
  • The Gilbert Cos., a division of P&O Nedlloyd Logistics, has appointed Charles Sampera senior vice president of supply chain solutions. Sampera has more than 20 years of experience in retail and wholesale supply chain channels, including Perry Ellis, The Disney Stores, Federated Department Stores and The May Co.

DOT delivers $580 million to boost port infrastructure

Leaders at American ports are cheering the latest round of federal infrastructure funding announced today, which will bring almost $580 million in Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP) awards, funding 31 projects in 15 states and one territory.

The money was funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT)’s Maritime Administration (MARAD).

Cimcorp's new CEO sees growth in grocery and tire segments

Logistics automation systems integrator Cimcorp today named company insider Veli-Matti Hakala as its new CEO, saying he will cultivate growth in both the company and its clientele, specifically in the grocery retail and tire plant logistics sectors.

An eight-year veteran of the Georgia company, Hakala will begin his new role on January 1, when the current CEO, Tero Peltomäki, will retire after a long and noteworthy career, continuing as a member of the board of directors, Cimcorp said.

The Boston-based enterprise software vendor Board has acquired the California company Prevedere, a provider of predictive planning technology, saying the move will integrate internal performance metrics with external economic intelligence.

According to Board, the combined technologies will integrate millions of external data points—ranging from macroeconomic indicators to AI-driven predictive models—to help companies build predictive models for critical planning needs, cutting costs by reducing inventory excess and optimizing logistics in response to global trade dynamics.
