Global electronic components distributor Avnet Electronics Marketing has been chosen as the Distributor of the Year by Infineon Technologies, a producer of integrated circuits and smart-card applications. The award recognizes Infineon's top supplier in terms of customer service and support for Infineon's global supply chain.
- Exceling five-fold. Five of Exel's facilities have been honored by DuPont with the Responsible Shipper Award. DuPont's award recognizes shipping facilities that comply with national and international transportation regulations, DuPont's safe transportation policies and the company's code of management practices.
- First in safety. The National Safety Council has presented ABF Freight System with its 2005 Fleet Contest Division Leader Award. The award recognizes outstanding performance in transportation safety. The National Safety Council is an international non-profit public service organization chartered by Congress in 1953 to promote safety.
- Triple crown. Schneider National has been honored with awards from two of its major customers. Colgate-Palmolive Co. has named Schneider as its Rising Star, for service above and beyond expectations, as well as its Intermodal Carrier of the Year. Meanwhile, Sony PTG (Sony Corp. of America) in Mount Pleasant, Pa., has honored Schneider with its Best Intermodal Carrier award for superior transportation service and support. And Sony Electronics in Tijuana, Mexico, named Schneider as its Best Over-the-Road Carrier in recognition of its service and commitment to on-time delivery performance of outbound shipments from Mexico.
