Third party logistics provider (3PL) NFI said today it has acquired United Express, a Glastonbury, Conn.-based freight brokerage company. Terms were not disclosed.
Cherry Hill, N.J.-based NFI said the transaction will strengthen its brokerage offerings in the mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. Both companies are family owned.
"We feel the United Express acquisition will benefit and expand NFI's growing brokerage business," said David Broering, NFI's senior vice president of integrated solutions, in a statement.
NFI CEO Sid Brown said the company will pursue what he called "strategic acquisitions" that bolt on new product and service offerings.
